Southside's "Lettuce Learn & Grow Garden" is taking root!
|Mr. Stewart and Mr. Schultz's all-boys 3rd grade classes work on the garden project.
||Ms. McCratic's all-girls 4th grade class works on spreading mulch donated by the City of Siloam Springs.
||Mr. Stewart and 4 of his boys moving 1 of 2 boxes full of seed packets donated by Lowe's in Siloam Springs.
||Mr. Schultz, Mr. Stewart, and Mr. Brian James load materials for the garden in a pickup truck.
This project started with a grant from Arkansas Coalition for Obesity Prevention (ArCOP), and would not be possible without the support from local and regional companies/organizations. As soon as our local Lowe's of Siloam Springs heard about the project, they joined Southside in support. In addition to ArCOP and Lowe's, the Siloam Springs Street Department made a donation toward the development of this project. Our 3rd and 4th grade students, staff of Southside Elementary, and families of our children will all eventually benefit from this project. Read more...
