Volunteers in Public Schools Training (VIPS), Tuesday, October 7
We will be having a VIPS training on Tuesday, October 7, at 8:30 and 12:00 at Southside. If you would like to volunteer in any capacity, we encourage you to attend this training. The training will not only equip you to know the expectations of volunteers at school, but to instruct you on locations and uses of certain machines and equipment you might use as a volunteer.
We welcome and encourage you to come be a part of our school and help serve our teachers and students.

Parent Seminar: Language Arts Common Core, Friday, October 10
A parent seminar will be held to discuss Language Arts Common Core, on Friday, October 10. English session is at 8:30, and Spanish session is at 12:00.
Sharing & Caring of Benton County
Sharing & Caring of Benton County will be in Siloam Springs at the Boys and Girls Club on Saturday, October 11 from 10:00 am to 1:00pm. The Boys and Girls Club is located at 655 Heritage Court, Siloam Springs, AR. Sharing and Caring parent letters will be going home on Tuesday, September 30. Applications will be available in our school office on that same day. You may pick up an application at the school or download one from their website: sharingandcaringkids.com. They will be taking applications from Monday, September 29 through October 21st

Parent Seminar: Math Curriculum, Monday, October 13
A math parent meeting will take place in the Southside PD room.The purpose of this meeting is to answer questions about math instruction and give information to help parents understand Common Core Mathematics. There will be 2 sessions to better accommodate anyone wanting to attend. A lunch session will be held at 12:00, and an evening session will be held at 6:30.
Fourth Grade Parent Letter
Movie Night, Friday, October 17
Southside will host a family movie night on Friday, October 17, in the gym.
Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., and the movie will start at 6:00 p.m.
Book Fair in the Library, October 21-28
The Book Fair in Southside's Library will be open until 6:30 p.m. during parent conference nights.
Southside Elementary Parent-Teacher Conferences
Parent-Teacher conferences will take place Thursday and Tuesday, October 23 and 28, from 3:45 to 6:45 p.m.
Come and enjoy lunch with your student, along with a picture taking session. Information about Grandparents Day will be sent home with your student as the special day draws closer. Please fill out the form as soon as possible once you receive it. We are looking forward to seeing our students' grandparents!
